In this short article and 2 minute video I briefly explain which divorce forms (divorce mediation checklist uk) you will need if you decide to apply for your divorce on paper or where to go if you decide to apply online.
I talk about each form in more detail in subsequent articles and videos in this series.
Paper divorce
Most divorces are quite standard and only require 4 main forms D8, D10, D84 and D36.
You can find them all in the document section of chapter 6 of the Divorce Manual together with examples of some completed forms.
- D8 is the divorce application form which you will need to complete whether you decide make a joint application or apply on your own.
- If you are the Respondent, you will need to respond to an application made by your former partner on form D10 (this is not the same as an Answer which is needed in rare situation when a divorce application is disputed)
- If you are a sole or indeed joint applicant you will need to apply for a conditional order using D84
- If you are a sole or joint applicant, you will need to apply for the conditional order to be made final using form-D36
- As I say, these documents can all be found in the resources section to chapter 6 of the Divorce Manual and all come with excellent and clear guidance notes for completion.
