How to prepare your ‘Mediation Mindset’
Here are some questions to test your thinking and prepare you.
Remember “We, humans, are predictive beings” and tend to get what we expect.
Ask yourselves these questions:
IF YOU BELIEVE with confidence that mediation will be successful, how does this influence and change how you think and feel about it?
How does this change your sense of expectation, your prediction?
How does this change how you think about and prepare for the mediation?
How does this influence how you feel about yourself?
How does this influence how you feel about and behave towards your Ex?
If you believe that mediation will be successful, what kind of person will your Ex experience in you, as you communicate with them in mediation, with this mindset motivating you to do your best?
AND, very importantly
How might this influence them to improve how they behave towards you?
Will it bring out the best in them or the worst, do you think?
AND
Will all this improve the chances of succeeding in mediation or worsen your chances.
As you listen to me, you may be finding it hard to imagine yourself, in your situation, as the person I am writing about, but still really want to believe that you can resolve and solve things with your Ex in mediation and avoid court.
If so, speak to a Family Mediator, speak to a Divorce Coach.
They will work with you and for you, helping you to believe and bring out the best in yourself.
Good luck
