Aims:
The primary purpose of the Compass Resolution co-parenting package is (Team, Divorce Manual, Partner organisations) is to support separating couples to improve their communication, plan their child arrangements and co-parent plan together in a way that best supports them and their children, using an integrated package of professionals, resources and partner organisations, in the most efficient and effective way.
The Support Package
An accredited Family Mediator trained and experienced to
- provide safe and secure conversational space and mediation process for parents
- guide the couple through the mediation process
- facilitate and support a collaborative solution focused mindset and approach
- to provide essential information directly to the couple when it is required
- to signpost the couple to relevant and important information and resources housed in the Divorce Manual (see below)
- to assess with the couple when they need additional professional support, assisting them to engage and work with the most appropriate members of the Compass Resolution Children and Relational support team
- to refer the couple to external (external to the Compass Resolution organisation) parenting and children professionals and support programmes, when required
The Divorce Manual provides the separating couple with a central and easily accessible and digestible source of support information, tools and resources, helping them to
- Improve their communication, helping them to work together with each other, the mediator and any other professionals.
- Create an effective and workable Co-parenting plan together
- Understand more fully the impact their separation may be having on their children
- How to ensure that their children’s voices are heard in the process, where appropriate
- Choose the right member of the Compass Resolution Parenting, children and Relationship team
- Choose the right external (external to Compass Resolution) support programme
The Parent, Children and Relationship support team
The Compass Resolution support team of professionals, including our Divorce Coaches, have all be carefully chosen for their qualifications, skills, experience and commitment to working in support of separated parents and their children, working as an integrated, efficient and effective team, when required.

By combining these key elements into a comprehensive support package separated parents can be fully supported to avoid court and decide theirs and their children’s own futures, together in a more collaborative and sustainable way, managing their costs, as they go.
